She is a cheerful girl who specializes in video games and is very enthusiastic when playing them, singing victory songs upon winning or smashing the desk when losing. She is notably especially skilled at League of Legends, using Yasuo as her main. Outside of gaming, she is a dedicated anime/manga fan, being a particularly big fan of the Sword_Art_Online franchise and in 2024 became a guest character in Sword_Art_Online_Last_Recollection. In spite of her skill at gaming, she has a reputation of being a ditz due to often making impulsive decisions and poorly thought out plans and for having the lowest score out of all the Hololive members on Yuzuki Choco's Trivia Quiz, a measly 1. She is close friends with independent vtuber Kagura Mea and has a tongue-in-cheek rivalry/friendship with fellow Hololive member Murasaki Shion. While she is lively on stream, she is self-admittedly very shy when not streaming. She was a playable character in the Azur_Lane x Hololive collab. Like her fellow vtubers, her appearance there came with many inside jokes related to her. Aqua herself got involved in game development when she became the star of a romance visual novel called Aquarium, which was released for the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 on October 27, 2022, and developed by Entergram. Aside from lending her voice and her design to the game, she provided creative input on the narrative. The game also features her fellow hololive vtubers Shirakami Fubuki and Houshou Marine in supporting roles. She graduated on August 28, 2024, after a run of 6 years, with a final farewell concert.
