It is a superhero action series created by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley and published by Image Comics. It is Kirkman's most famous work besides The Walking Dead and like said series, the comic and its adaptation are known for being exceptionally violent though Invincible is comparatively lighter and more hopeful in tone. The original comic ran from January 22, 2003 to February 14, 2018. It was adapted into an animated TV series by TAP that began airing on March 25, 2021. Kirkman himself was also involved with the series production and while the series generally follows the comic's storyline, he approved of the various changes the series made to the story. The animated adaptation primarily stars actors who are more known for live action film and or TV work and features many Walking Dead alumni. The animation was highly successful critically and in viewership, giving the franchise much bigger exposure and subsequent seasons were quickly approved shortly after the first one concluded. It has also led to the franchise branching out into video games starting with Omni-man becoming a guest fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 and the series itself being adapted into a tag team fighting game called Invincible VS. It tells the story of Mark Grayson, a normal teenage boy who just so happens to be the son of one of the top superheroes on Earth, Nolan Grayson who is actually an alien immigrant from the Viltrumite home world. One day, Mark begins demonstrating super powers on his own, and this leads him to become a superhero just like his father under the name Invincible. Under his father's tutelage, he begins performing his superhero duties while trying to balance it with his personal life. While he finds it fun at first, Mark is soon faced with the true difficulties of being a superhero as he faces more physical and moral challenges, and gradually learns the dark truth behind his heritage. . .
