The Shibuya arc is the major turning point of JJK's story as a whole and nothing is ever really the same afterwards. Maki, one of the survivors of the Shibuya Incident is one of the most prominent visual examples of the change. After barely surviving being burnt by Jogo Maki loses the ponytail she had in the early half of the series, keeping her hair short. Her clothing style changes, ditching the Jujutsu school uniform in favor of a sleeveless top that shows off Maki's muscles and burn scars. Maki's general vibe becomes more intimidating than she was before and she is noticeably more muscular, more stoic, and after her sister Mai sacrifices her life, giving her cursed energy to her a much more powerful fighter to the point that she reminds others of another prominent Zen'in clan member, Fushiguro Touji.
